"Communicating to transform" is one of the key principles that drives us at Atípica, and undoubtedly one of the greatest opportunities we have had to develop is the work that we created for UN Women, an entity that has trusted our work since the middle of 2021.
UN Women is the United Nations organization dedicated to promoting gender equality and women's empowerment. As a global advocate for women and girls, it was established to accelerate progress toward improving the lives of women and to meet the needs they face around the world.
We have been proud to work with this organization for some time now, developing material for their online and offline product kit, including emailing development services, editorial material for catalogs and internal communications, creation of graphic material to support marketing activities, exclusive photographic material for projects, and proofreading of texts for effective communication with a gender perspective.
Our work has currently been focused on different UN Women programs, such as:
Mujeres Emplea: A program mainly focused on connecting women with job offers and entrepreneurial opportunities in the public and private sectors, making free training tools visible and promoting the offer of care services.
Tú Oportunidad: A global initiative whose objective is to economically empower women who have not been able to complete their formal education. It is implemented through an e-learning platform that includes courses and content aimed at developing personal skills to foster employability, promote entrepreneurship, and support completion of the free exams to finish secondary education.
Originarias: This program was created in 2016 with the purpose of contributing to the empowerment of indigenous women in Northern Chile, recognizing their important role in society and in the region. Through greater economic and social participation, it seeks to contribute to the empowerment of indigenous women and the recognition of their indispensable role for a more sustainable development of society in conjunction with the regions.
#GanarGanar: The overall objective of the program is to contribute to the economic empowerment of women, recognizing them as beneficiary-partners of growth and development, increasing the commitment of the private sector (companies and employers' organizations) to gender equality, women's empowerment and strengthening the ability of companies to implement these commitments.
WEPs: The Women's Empowerment Principles are a set of good business practices that promote equality between women and men in all areas of management. It advocates the creation of development opportunities for women within public and private companies, their participation in leadership and decision making, equal pay for equal work, and the generation of continuous education, training and career development opportunities.
In addition, we have had the opportunity to develop graphic proposals and visual material for project presentations that have been shown at the Constituent Convention, and for their latest campaign, #25N, for the International Day for the Eradication of Violence against Women.
Working for a gender-focused communication for such an important organization, whose main target is women, is something that fills us with pride and that identifies us. It has given us the opportunity to contribute to a common goal: To strengthen gender equality and female empowerment.
Achieving this goal is a day-to-day effort we have as an agency. Starting from a request to develop the details for a better feminist communication, which makes this society more aware of the power of us women, casting aside stereotypes and making perceptible what is often imperceptible.
Being part of UN Women's communication helps us continuously improve and broaden our vision, and we are grateful for entrusting us the task of effectively communicating their work with our work.
